Job summary

Food City is seeking a Food Service Associate to support our mission of Run the Best Store in Town. You will greet customers, provide friendly service, assist in baking and decorating, and keep bakery cases clean and organized.

You will take phone orders for cakes, maintain displays, rotate stock, and help deliver on-time orders. Join a flexible, team-oriented environment that values reliability and customer focus, with benefits including health plans, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service to support the company mission.
• Greet customers and maintain a friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
• Prepare and decorate foods to meet or exceed customer expectations, including cakes and cupcakes.
• Maintain display cases and ensure proper rotation of products.
• Take telephone orders for food and specialty cakes.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and surrounding display spaces.
• Assist in proper rotation and dating of Food Service products.
