Job summary

Food City is hiring for a Food Service Associate in the bakery. You will greet customers, prepare and decorate cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, and keep the bakery area clean and organized. A customer-first mindset and teamwork are essential as you contribute to a friendly, fun store environment.

Take phone orders for cakes, assist with inventory, and be ready to cross-train in multiple bakery duties. 18+ years old; food service experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and perform routine tasks with daily interaction.
• On-site attendance per scheduled shifts and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous customer service at all times.
• Maintain a positive, friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Prepare and produce quality food & products per expectations.
• Decorate specialty cakes and use photo cake computer.
• Decorate cupcakes and cookies; maintain cake/cookie cases.
• Take telephone orders for food and specialty cakes.
• Maintain inventory and rotate/dating Food Service products.
• Keep display case, workstation, and area tidy.
• Ensure special cake orders are ready for delivery on time.
• Cross-train in multiple bakery areas with varied responsibilities.
