Job summary

Off The Hook in Hammond, LA seeks a Prep Cook to set the tone for our busy Cajun kitchen. You will ensure every dish meets high standards, assist with station setup, and collaborate with the team to maintain a fast, clean, and organized environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of restaurant experience, is 16 or older, and is willing to complete training programs. A high school diploma or some college is preferred, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including days, weekends, and travel as needed for work related functions and training.
• 1 year of restaurant experience.
• Must complete all required Off The Hook company training programs.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
• Possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Answer, report and follow GM's instructions.
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
• Stock inventory appropriately.
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
