Job summary

Off The Hook Restaurants in Baton Rouge is seeking a Prep Cook to join our fast-paced Cajun kitchen. You’ll set up stations, prepare ingredients, cook menu items, maintain sanitation, and help our team deliver Real Cajun Real Fast dishes.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year restaurant experience, HS diploma or equivalent, is 16+, able to work varied shifts, and willing to train with Off The Hook’s programs. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may change.
• Able to work a variety of shifts including days, weekends, and travel as needed for work related functions and training.
• 1 year of restaurant experience
• Must complete all required Off The Hook company training programs
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
• Possess a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow GM's instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
• Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism
