Job summary

Opaa! Food Management, Inc. is hiring a Kitchen Assistant in Jerseyville, Illinois to prep breakfast and lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and help with occasional catering. You will perform all kitchen duties as needed.

You will follow Opaa!'s recipes, maintain temperatures, operate equipment with proper certification, manage FIFO stock, assist with dishwashing, and keep records as required by HHFKA/CACFP rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Ability to follow menus and Opaa! recipes with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced school food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up serving lines and ensure food is held at proper temperatures.
• Prepare foods per menu and Opaa! recipes; prep ahead for next day.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and FIFO inventory.
• Handle cash register operations and POS transactions as needed.
