Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria Assistant Manager to support the Cafeteria Manager at the campus level. You will lead the CNP team, adhere to USDA standards, place orders, monitor food quality, and manage records, payments, and data entry daily.

The role also involves staff supervision, training, and coordinating with leadership to promote healthy meals while meeting audits and compliance targets.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 2+ years in food service, restaurant, or hospitality required; leadership preferred.
• License: Valid Texas driver’s license; Food Handler’s Card preferred (within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Direct the team to execute the approved menu 100% every day.
• Ensure every student in the meal program receives a reimbursable meal.
• Ensure counting and claiming are compliant and accurate.
• Observe counting and claiming at time of service.
• Enter counts into internal trackers and PrimeroEdge.
• Recruit and develop staff for potential promotion to Cafeteria Manager.
• Supervise Food Service Specialists and substitutes.
