Job summary

University of Washington is seeking an Assistant Manager for Cafes to oversee Rotunda Café and an auxiliary dining location within UW Medical Center. You will lead daily breakfast and lunch service, manage espresso, Grab & Go and deli operations, and ensure top service, quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration or related field.
Two years of management experience in the food service industry.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary operational leader for Rotunda Café, ensuring daily breakfast and lunch service.
Manage high-volume espresso, Grab & Go, retail and Hot Self-Service Deli operations.
Provide active floor leadership during peak service periods with ~90% floor presence.
Ensure standards for customer service, product quality, cleanliness, food safety and efficiency.
Lead implementation and improvement of the Hot Self-Service Deli, coordinating production and merchandising.
Monitor campus needs and adjust operations for UW Medical Center location.
Build positive relationships with building partners, customers and campus stakeholders.
