Job summary

Corner Market Café in Newport, RI is seeking a hands-on Café Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, lead from the front, and set the standard for service, quality, and safety. The role reports to the District Manager and requires a minimum commitment of 45 hours per week across six days.

This is a high-visibility, active leadership position involving recruiting, training, scheduling, inventory, guest experience, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience leading a cafe/restaurant team and delivering guest service.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, train, and retain team members who provide excellent customer service
• Establish clear expectations and hold employees to standards
• Coach employees through performance and service opportunities
• Lead by example with professionalism, urgency, and reliability
• Direct daily cafe activities to ensure efficient operations
• Manage scheduling, staffing, labor, and daily coverage
• Monitor inventory and ensure product availability
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
