Job summary

Katz Coffee is seeking a Café Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day performance and the long-term health of our consumer-facing operations, including the in-house café, mobile unit, and the IAH Terminal B presence run with a partner. This role combines hands-on leadership with budget accountability and partner coordination.

The right candidate will pull shots during rushes, review labor reports, troubleshoot espresso machines, and coordinate with the concessions partner to uphold product

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in coffee/food service or retail operations.
• Proven accountability for operating budgets — COGS, labor, cost control.
• Working knowledge of espresso equipment operation, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management tools.
• Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, train, coach, and manage performance for café and mobile unit staff in coordination with HR.
• Build and maintain staff schedules across the cafes and events calendar.
• Review and validate timecards for all direct reports; resolve discrepancies and submit on time.
• Provide barista training support, calibration, and quality coaching as needed.
• Own operating budget performance for the café and mobile unit — cost control and margins.
• Reconcile daily sales; track margin and labor against targets; analyze per-event profitability.
• Manage ordering, par levels, vendor coordination, and stock rotation across locations.
• Develop or create coffee and food menu viability across café and truck; adapt to mobile constraints.
• Monitor product quality and customer satisfaction at IAH; conduct quality audits.
