Job summary

Blank Street, Inc. is seeking a Cafe Manager in NYC to lead all store operations, train and develop team members, and maintain exceptional coffee quality and customer experience. You will own scheduling, inventory, and performance standards while driving growth and store profitability.

You’ll recruit talented staff, coach front-line teams, and ensure compliance with local labor laws. The role requires hands-on leadership behind the bar and a passion for great coffee and guest service.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in high growth hospitality or consumer brands.
• Full Time availability: 45 hours per week, 5 days, and must be available to work 2 peak days (usually weekend)

Responsibilities

• Create a motivating and engaging team culture by training, coaching and mentoring your team.
• Cover scheduling gaps and manage store schedule.
• Create and publish staff schedules per state/local labor laws.
• Review and approve timecards and PTO to ensure accurate, on-time pay.
• Recruit top talent in collaboration with People Team.
• Oversee training quality and coach Shift Leads.
• Ensure food and beverage quality standards are met and recipes executed consistently.
• Own ordering, vendor relations, waste, inventory counts and compliance of Inventory Management System.
• Spend 50–70% of time leading by example behind the bar with high-quality service and product prep.
• Maintain store safety, cleanliness and presentation per policy.
• Meet and exceed store financial targets and audit scores.
• Build ties with neighborhood businesses to grow local brand loyalty.
