Job summary

Blank Street is seeking a Cafe Manager in NYC to own daily store operations, lead a hospitality team, and uphold top coffee quality and customer service.

You will hire, train, and mentor staff, manage scheduling and payroll, and drive sales while ensuring safety and cleanliness. This role requires a strong background in high-growth food and beverage environments and a passion for community engagement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in high growth hospitality or consumer brands.
• Full Time availability: 45 hours per week, 5 days, must work 2 peak days (Fri-Sun).

Responsibilities

• Create a motivating and engaging team culture through training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Cover scheduling gaps and manage store scheduling according to labor laws.
• Review and approve timecards and PTO to ensure timely payroll.
• Recruit top talent in collaboration with the People Team.
• Oversee training quality and provide feedback to Shift Leads.
• Ensure food and beverage quality and consistency across the store.
• Manage ordering, vendor relations, waste, and inventory counts.
• Lead by example behind the bar 50–70% of the week with customer service and production.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and presentation of the location.
• Foster neighborhood ties to grow local brand loyalty.
• Drive store financial performance and peak business throughput.
• Aim for high audit scores and recipe accuracy.
