Job summary

Blank Street is hiring a Cafe Manager in Boston to own daily store operations, lead a hospitality team, and drive exceptional customer service. You will oversee scheduling, training, vendor relations, and inventory while ensuring quality and compliance across the store.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership behind the bar, maintaining product standards, and growing local brand loyalty through community engagement and operational excellence. The position is full-time and on-site in Boston.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing and leading a single-store unit in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands.
• Full-time availability: 45 hours/week, 5 days, with 2 peak days (typically Fri–Sun).

Responsibilities

• Create a motivating, engaging team culture through training, coaching and mentoring.
• Cover scheduling gaps and publish staff schedules per state/local labor laws.
• Review and approve timecards and PTO to ensure accurate and timely pay.
• Recruit top talent in collaboration with People Team.
• Oversee training quality by Shift Leads and provide coaching.
• Ensure coffee accreditations are completed on time for new employees.
• Maintain high team engagement scores and quality standards.
• Oversee inventory, supplier relations, waste, and our Inventory Management System.
• Lead by example behind the bar 50–70% of the week for service and production.
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and presentation per policy.
• Maintain audit scores and drive improvements via feedback.
• Build ties with neighborhood businesses to grow local loyalty.
• Support store financial performance and peak throughput.
• Drive higher store AOV through initiatives and team buy-in.
• Address operations and product quality audits promptly.
