Mattel, Inc. and Subsidiaries' American Girl Cafe in New York seeks an experienced Cafe Lead to support daily restaurant operations and lead the team in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

This role reports to the Restaurant Manager and drives service standards, staff coordination, and sales goals. The position requires leadership, customer focus, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic retail dining environment.

Qualifications

• Restaurant experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with children.
• Current Sanitation Certification, ServSafe, and Safe Alcohol Certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of Zomato, POS, InfoGenesis/Universal Desktop, and related systems.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support Restaurant Leadership Team in staffing, coaching/training, purchasing/vendor relations, inventories, and service standards.
• Assist in achieving department revenue and expense goals.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve service issues.
• Ensure food quality and handle special requests and dietary needs.
• Collaborate with management to deliver events and programs.
• Maintain open communication with staff and management.
• Troubleshoot restaurant/kitchen equipment and POS/InfoGenesis systems.
• Lead by example in all areas of the business.
