Job summary

Mattel, Inc.’s American Girl Retail team in Chicago is seeking a Food Expeditor. You will engage guests professionally, support the mission of Celebrating Girls, and help maintain a fast-paced, kid-friendly dining environment.

You will manage seating, deliver food, upsell where appropriate, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met. The role requires a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, with opportunities to contribute to store events and celebrations.

Qualifications

• SERV Safe certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Impeccable customer service skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated growth mindset by staying curious and learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverages with proper etiquette and reset tables.
• Engage customers with personalized attention and friendly demeanor.
• Respond to challenging service situations with good judgment and involve a supervisor when needed.
• Handle special requests and birthday information; assist with parties and events.
• Follow food safety guidelines and proper labeling, FIFO, and correct temperatures.
• Know local/state health sanitation laws and maintain hygiene standards.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation company guidelines.
