Job summary

Avacend seeks a CADD Support Consultant to analyze customer needs and participate in planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of CADD systems and workspace solutions using Bentley OpenRoads Designer and OpenBridge Modeler.

The consultant will provide day-to-day CADD user support, develop best practices, and deliver training sessions while maintaining engineering software standards in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years documenting and revising existing and new business processes to support new or revised CADD software requirements.
• 2+ years supporting the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software.
• 2+ years working with CADD software, including Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Bentley OpenBridge Modeler, Bentley InRoads, MicroStation SS2, CAiCE, or Bentley MicroStation.
• Experience providing CADD user support and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CADD workspaces, standards, workflows, or technical documentation.
• Ability to analyze business/design requirements and recommend appropriate CADD solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day CADD user support.
• Troubleshoot user issues submitted through ServiceNow ticketing systems.
• Perform CADD software installations and configurations as needed.
• Assist external users with workspace installation.
• Support the maintenance of engineering software standards and documentation.
• Determine effective ways to use Bentley software to achieve design and plan-preparation objectives.
• Determine effective ways to use CADD workspaces to meet engineering and design requirements.
• Develop and document CADD best practices, how-to guides, workflows, and technical procedures.
• Develop and conduct CADD software and workspace training sessions.
• Assist with the development and delivery of user training as needed.
• Investigate new and emerging CADD technologies.
• Evaluate CADD technologies and provide recommendations to technical personnel and management.
• Document and revise existing and new business processes to support changing CADD software requirements.
• Develop and maintain CADD software best practices.
• Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and internal teams.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the CADD Support Consultant analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of new or enhanced CADD systems and solutions.

The consultant will support the implementation and ongoing use of CADD software and workspaces, primarily Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler, while also supporting legacy environments such as Bentley InRoads, MicroStation SS2, CAiCE, and Bentley MicroStation.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with CADD software, including one or more of the following:

  • Bentley OpenBridge Modeler
  • Bentley InRoads
  • MicroStation SS2
  • CAiCE
  • Bentley MicroStation
• Experience providing CADD user support and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CADD workspaces, standards, workflows, or technical documentation.
• Ability to analyze business/design requirements and recommend appropriate CADD solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public-sector experience.
• Transportation or transportation engineering experience.
• Engineering or roadway design background.
• Experience developing or delivering CADD software/workspace training.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic.
• Strong Python experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
