Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer, Manufacturing, to draft changes to engineering drawings using SolidWorks and to update Bills of Materials with each change, ensuring accurate part numbering and seamless manufacturing support.

The role requires an Associate degree in mechanical engineering or drafting and at least one year of design/drafting experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, with SolidWorks proficiency and familiarity with PDM/MRP workflows

Qualifications

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
Knowledge of 3-D wire frame construction and assembly drawings.
Familiarity with welding symbols is preferred.
Excellent math skills including geometry and trigonometry.
Proficient with Word and Excel for documentation.

Responsibilities

Draft changes to engineering drawings using 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks) for manufacturing changes.
Correct BOM with each drawing change and assign new part numbers as needed.
Design and draft detailed drawings of machinery and mechanical devices and update existing product lines.
Coordinate with engineering software, PDM and MRP updates and troubleshoot problems.
Provide support and training to team members.
Receive calls from sales and parts offices regarding drawings.
