Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a dynamic shift leader for Manufacturing Ops & Assembly to oversee aerospace component production. You will lead on the shop floor, drive safety, quality, and schedule attainment, and develop a high-performing technical workforce.

Collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management is essential to remove barriers and raise standards of precision, reliability, and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, structures assembly, or related manufacturing.
• 2+ years leading production teams, manufacturing cells, or shift operations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience with precision drilling, alignment, fixturing, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
• Experience with precision measurement equipment (torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers).
• Experience coordinating across Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Technicians in fabrication, drilling, assembly, alignment, and integration of aerospace structures.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and Lean operational excellence on every shift.
• Execute daily production plan balancing safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
• Conduct shift startup meetings and communicate priorities; identify risks and coordinate recovery plans.
• Ensure work is performed per engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, and standard work.
• Monitor performance and remove bottlenecks with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance on assembly, fixturing, and precision operations.
