Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to perform Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability benefits. You will conduct focused assessments, review records, and provide objective medical opinions.

Some charting from home may be required, with travel up to 10% to other Loyal Source clinics. The position requires an active NP license, independence, collaboration, strong people skills, and basic computer skills in a VA clinical-exam environment.

Qualifications

Graduate of a nursing program with NP license.
At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
Experience in medical disability examinations or related field preferred.
Basic Life Support certification required.
Previous military experience or familiarity with veterans preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct Comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations, including review of medical history and physical exams; 10% travel to other Loyal Source clinics.
Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic results to understand the veteran's health condition.
Render objective medical opinions based on exam findings and record review.
Coordinate with QA and case management systems for submission of findings.
Document examination findings clearly in VA-compliant reports.
