Duties and Responsibilities
- Material Planning and Procurement: Monitor current inventory levels and future demand to place timely purchase orders. Ensure consistent and adequate supply of all materials necessary for production. Coordinate with other departments regarding production schedules, timelines, testing times, supplier payments, etc. Schedule and oversee the supply and delivery of materials and products. Manage inventory issues, schedule changes, cancellations, and product quality issues. Conduct regular open order review meetings with suppliers and update SAP delivery data as needed.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage supplier activities for the Milford manufacturing facility, including problem resolution, project management, open order review, and supplier performance reporting. Ensure continuity and reliability of supply and mitigate operational risks. Monitor supplier performance and hold regular business review meetings with key suppliers.
- Customer Interaction: Represent the Supply Chain function at internal and joint project team meetings. Provide updates to customers on inventory levels, campaign readiness, and risk mitigation plans.
- Spend and Savings Management: Review and analyze spend and savings; identify and develop opportunities to consolidate spending and streamline procurement processes for raw materials and consumables.
- Strategic Sourcing Collaboration: Contribute to global category teams in developing, communicating, and approving sourcing strategies. Collect regional business requirements and supply market information. Analyze regional spend to identify opportunities for cost reduction and support business case development for regional and global initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with management across the enterprise to discuss sourcing challenges, provide progress updates, and report on program performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience as a supply chain professional in a GMP/Pharmaceutical environment
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is a plus
- Strong analytical skills related to procurement, supplier performance, and cost analysis
- Experience with project management and supplier relationship management
- Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation; comfortable presenting to senior management
- Price Negotiation: Leverage overall Rentschler volumes to negotiate favorable conditions
- Sourcing: Use existing vendors and establish standard Rentschler products; source secondary vendors as needed
- Local Procurement: Maintain local procurement activities with regional suppliers
- Experience with direct and indirect commodities
- Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management software
- Strong communication skills for interaction with external suppliers and internal teams
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, good time management, listening, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
