Qualifications

Job description

Join to apply for the Buyer/Planner role at ASSA ABLOY Group.

This position is responsible for purchasing fabricated parts, subcontract manufacturing, production tooling, and raw materials.

Responsibilities

1. Procure materials and supplies based on production requirements.
2. Prepare purchase orders with all necessary documentation to ensure timely delivery from approved suppliers.
3. Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure incoming materials meet production standards.
4. Coordinate with Production Managers and Leads to prioritize parts for daily production and manage inventory to prevent shortages.
5. Analyze production schedules to ensure suppliers meet delivery deadlines, supporting customer order fill rate (OFR).
6. Reduce procurement costs through value analysis, negotiations, and sourcing strategies.
7. Maintain records of potential substitute materials and sources.
8. Work with Receiving and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
9. Develop strong supplier relationships to improve lead times and delivery quality.
10. Assist Engineering with new product development projects.
11. Participate in monthly Kaizen events to improve production efficiency.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred).

Experience

• Experience with MRP systems, preferably JDE.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles and applications.
• 3-5 years of supply management experience in high-volume manufacturing (preferred).
