Salary Range: Up to $80,000/Annualized,commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Business Service Center Manager, under minimal supervisionand with use of initiative and independent judgment, directs andoversees the Business Service Center's day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for processing all business transactions andproviding various financial, analytical, and business processtransactional services to faculty and staff within the area ofassigned responsibility. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work ofothers.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Business Center.Oversees the completion, accuracy, and timeliness of a variety ofcomplex business transactions, including a combination ofaccounting (posting/reconciling), budget development andmonitoring, personnel, and payroll transactions, purchasing,records management, and other related areas.
- Supervises the Business Center Specialists and studentassistants and provides training regarding various businesstransactions such as: accounting, purchasing and procurement,travel, and reconciliation of accounts. Establishes clearexpectations from Business Center staff and prepares annual staffperformance evaluations to identify strengths and opportunities forimprovement.
- Establishes system of controls for business process managementsystems and develops procedures to improve existing systems;establishes methods for capturing, defining, analyzing, andstreamlining processes for better delivery of administrativeservices, data flows, approvals, feedback loops, internal controls,and process execution.
- Ensures documentation and accuracy of business processes,controls that are effective, efficient, and protect data integrity.Coordinates with appropriate functional leads to implementprocesses that improve data integration and process improvementsacross all functional areas.
- Prepares monthly financial reports for Department Chairs andfaculty on various funding sources: federal, state, local, andprivate, to ensure compliance with university policies.
- Participates in the implementation of goals, policies,priorities, and procedures related to business process managementregarding resource allocation, human resources modeling, andcoordination of people and resources; communicates and coordinatespolicies, practices, and procedures with departmentchairs/managers, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, and othercustomers.
- Identifies and resolves issues, concerns, discrepancies,problems, and inconsistencies, determining appropriate correctiveprocedures.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and ensures thesafety of all confidential and sensitive information associatedwith this role.
- Acts as liaison between departments and internal or externalcustomers; interacts with clients by telephone, electronically orface to face to identify and support their transactionalneeds/requirements; proactively engages customers through reportingand personal responses; obtains, researches and evaluates allrelevant information to handle inquiries and complaints; respondspromptly to customer inquiries/requests; handles and resolvescustomer complaints; elevates unresolved issues to the appropriateresources; manages client expectations and provides consistentclient updates; keeps records of client interactions, transactions,and actions taken; communicates and coordinates with internaldepartments as needed to resolve client issues.
- Oversees recruitment and hiring efforts for exempt andnon-exempt personnel; creates employment requisitions for posting;reviews.
- Ensures timely and accurate processing of all personnel actionsin the HRIS, to include, but not limited to, creating andsubmitting documents/requests via respective institutional systems,in accordance with established University and Human Resourcespolicies and procedures; collaborates closely with Human Resourcesregarding employee relations and compensation matters.
- Works closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure the hiringmanagers work their job postings and find candidates to fill thevacant positions; ensure the onboarding and offboardingprocesses with the supervisors have been completed.
- Ensures the organization charts are complete and accurate; postmonthly in Teams.
- Completes special projects and assignments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related work experience.
- At the discretion of the department, education and experiencemay be substituted on a one year for one year basis.
- Five (5) years of related work experience.
- This position may require the ability to maintain the securityand integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per TexasEO-GA-48.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary,if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
This position will work primarily on campus.Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
