Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administration and monitoring of complex financial and business transaction processes in support of the Business Service Center.
  • Receives, reviews, analyzes, and processes complex business transactions into a variety of University software systems.
  • Transactions encompass accounting, budget development and monitoring, purchasing, travel, records management, and project scheduling.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and creates statistical, financial, and related ad hoc reports.
  • Reviews budgets for accuracy and compliance with procedures and regulations.

Salary Range: Up to $46,332/Annualized,commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Business Service Center Specialist II provides support to the Business Service Center for financial and business activities.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the administration and monitoring of complexfinancial and business transaction processes in support of theBusiness Service Center.
  2. Receives, reviews, analyzes, and processes complex businesstransactions into a variety of University softwaresystems.
  3. Transactions encompass a variety of tasks, including accounting(posting and reconciling), budget development and monitoring,purchasing, travel, records management, and projectscheduling.
  4. Prepares, analyzes, and creates statistical, financial, andrelated ad hoc reports.
  5. Reviews budgets for accuracy and compliance with procedures andregulations.
  6. Compiles and analyzes financial information to post entries toaccounts in an automated finance system.
  7. Allocates expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivablesbased on reports and schedules.
  8. Reviews and processes requisitions, and confers with thedepartment for clarifications, specifications, and preferredsupplies.
  9. Engages with vendors to obtain product or service informationsuch as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  10. Identifies and resolves issues, concerns, discrepancies,problems, and inconsistencies, determining appropriate correctiveprocedures.
  11. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and ensures thesafety of all confidential and sensitive information privy to thisposition.
  12. Acts as a liaison between departments and internal or externalcustomers, interacting with clients by telephone, electronically,or face-to-face to identify and support their transactional needsand requirements.
  13. Engages customers through reporting and personal responses,researches and evaluates all relevant information to handleinquiries and complaints, and promptly responds and resolvescustomer inquiries and/or complaints.
  14. Manages client expectations and provides consistent clientupdates.
  15. Maintains records of client interactions, transactions, andactions taken.
  16. Collaborates and coordinates with internal departments asneeded to resolve client issues.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in arelated field.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience. Education may besubstituted for experience on one year for one year basis.
  • This position may require the ability to maintain the securityand integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per TexasEO-GA-48.

Physical Demands
  • Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, onlyoccasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of forceoccasionally.

This position will work both on campus and remotely inTexas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee'sresponsibility.
