Job summary

Fragomen is seeking an Associate to join our business immigration practice in the United States. You will build and maintain client relationships, formulate complex immigration strategies, and provide senior-level counsel with a strong grasp of immigration law.

You will engage with senior stakeholders, supervise junior staff, and contribute to business development. A JD/LLM and bar admission are required, with 5–8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• U.S. JD or LLM required.
• Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association.
• 5-8 years of Associate-level experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of immigration law.

Responsibilities

• Build, strengthen, and maintain strong client relationships with key stakeholders in client accounts, as well as Partners and other relevant stakeholders.
• Formulate immigration strategies for intricate matters and present well-structured arguments.
• Engage with clients at middle and senior management levels, offering counsel and consultation.
• Serve as a business advisor with a comprehensive working knowledge of immigration law.
• Acquire in-depth sector-specific expertise and apply it to client scenarios.
• Ensure compliance with firm protocols, data quality, and file maintenance.
• Research complex immigration issues and formulate solutions, including documentation.
• Independently execute case preparation and filing, developing strategies for complex matters.
• Identify revenue opportunities and explore new business initiatives.
• Supervise Associates and staff, providing mentoring and performance feedback.
• Lead process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and standardization.
• Support Partners on proposals, business plans, and RFPs; participate in marketing and BD opportunities.
• Foster collaboration across teams and firm-wide.
• Ensure adherence to firm standards and regulatory requirements.
