This position is 100% remote, based in the US or Canada, with a preference for CST and EST time zones.

An Overview Of This Role

We seek an enthusiastic and strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing Sales Development team. As a BDR, you will lead initial outreach to targeted Enterprise accounts, collaborating with Field and Digital Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams. Your role involves using creative marketing and sales tactics to prospect and engage with various buyer personas, introducing GitLab’s value. You will generate qualified meetings and pipeline for our Sales organization. Our BDRs come from diverse backgrounds, many with experience in closing roles or team management.

We provide extensive onboarding and training, equipping you with DevOps and GitLab knowledge necessary for success.

What You'll Do In This Role
  • Execute outbound prospecting initiatives effectively
  • Conduct high-level discovery conversations in target accounts
  • Meet or exceed BDR-sourced Sales Accepted Opportunity (SAO) targets
  • Collaborate with teammates to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging
  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, and develop accounts using industry knowledge
  • Maintain a variety of touches (call, email, social) with prospects via Outreach.io
  • Manage, track, and report activities/results using Salesforce
  • Document processes in the GitLab handbook and update with your Business Development Manager
  • Work with Field and Corporate Marketing to drive attendance at regional events
  • Engage participants at marketing events to identify opportunities and schedule meetings
  • Mentor new BDR hires in navigating key accounts
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing for targeted marketing tactics
  • Partner strategically with the Sales Team in prospecting efforts
We're looking for
  • Experience with Financial Services segment
  • Located in CST or EST in the US or Canada
  • Positive, energetic phone skills, excellent listening, and strong writing skills
  • Ability to meet or exceed KPIs regularly
  • A self-starter with credible achievements
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values
  • Knowledge of business processes, roles, and organizational structure
  • Determined personality with growth and success drive
  • Passion for GitLab’s journey
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Previous experience in tech sales, marketing, or sales development is a plus
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)

The base salary range for this role in listed locations is $71,400—$105,000 USD, determined by experience, education, and market data. Sales roles may include incentive pay up to 100% of the base salary.
