Founding Business Development Representative (BDR)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Founding BDR to lay the foundation for a high-impact outbound and inbound sales motion. You’ll take ownership of a carefully curated ICP list of ~1,500 target accounts (primarily banks and credit unions) — with even more growth expected following the launch of a new SMB product.

You'll be the first dedicated BDR and will play a critical role building the prospecting and qualification strategy from the ground up. You'll report directly to the General Manager and have a strong tech stack at your fingertips: Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Salesforce.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Outbound: Prospect strategically into ~1,500+ existing ICP accounts, mainly regional banks and credit unions.
  • Inbound: Qualify and run discovery calls with inbound leads generated through marketing efforts.
  • Build the Playbook: Create and refine outbound messaging, cadences, and qualification frameworks.
  • Pipeline Ownership: Set meetings and generate early-stage pipeline for the sales team.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the General Manager on go-to-market initiatives and feedback loops.

What We're Looking For:

  • 1+ years of experience as a BDR/SDR, ideally at a tech company.
  • Experience selling into banks, credit unions, or financial institutions is REQUIRED.
  • Strong skills in both outbound prospecting and inbound lead qualification.
  • Highly self-motivated with a builder’s mentality and a desire to help craft scalable sales processes.
  • Organized and data-driven, with excellent CRM hygiene.
  • 40% year-over-year revenue growth since 2017
  • 270+ financial institutions served, with 70 added just in the past year
  • Recently launched a new Planning & Budgeting module, already adopted by 110 institutions in year one
  • Winner of the Financial Planning & Budgeting category in the 2025 RiskTech100 awards
  • Backed by a major private equity firm specializing in scaling software companies

The role:

  • Build the outbound BDR function from the ground up — processes, cadences, playbooks, tools
  • Define and sharpen the ICP alongside product and go-to-market leadership
  • Drive top-of-funnel pipeline generation and outbound strategy
  • Influence the broader GTM strategy and contribute to future hiring
  • Report directly to the C-suite with a real voice in strategic decisions
  • Clear path to leadership in under 12 months
