Overview

TierPoint is looking for aspiring technology sales professionals to join our Business Development Team. Our Business Development Representatives execute integrated, multichannel B2B prospecting strategies, pitching our award-winning Hybrid IT & Cloud solutions.

This role offers a base salary, uncapped performance-based monthly bonuses, daily and weekly sales incentives, and a clear path for long-term career development in the booming field of technology sales.

Business Development Representatives are articulate rainmaker-type sales professionals who are responsible for lead generation-related activities. This position requires a major portion of the workday to be spent on the telephone and some email contact with businesses.

This position will solely be dedicated to outbound leads and accounts, generating demand for our Tri-State region. This includes areas of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Qualified applicants must reside in the region this role is supporting.

Responsibilities
  1. Create and prioritize strategic account lists within the Tri-State area.
  2. Prospect within businesses and qualify them against certain criteria by initiating outbound calls.
  3. Research and gather business & contact information, updating our database accordingly.
  4. Identify decision-makers, value-proposition them by providing product and services information, and ultimately set up appointments for our direct sales team.
  5. Provide follow-up activities as needed, as a part of closing the sale.
  6. Be the engine that drives pipeline, new logos, and growth for TierPoint.
  7. Evangelize TierPoint.
  8. Provide quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Exceptional self-motivation coupled with great communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  2. Strong, demonstrable sales aptitude and a hunter mentality.
  3. Must have proven phone sales experience, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage and convert leads through proactive outreach and persuasive communication skills.
  4. Professional, ambitious, organized, determined, results & goal oriented.
  5. Proficiency in the use of e-mail, word-processing, and using spreadsheets.
  6. BA/BS or experience that demonstrates skill sets for this position.
  7. Ability to learn new information and keep up-to-date on knowledge of the industry, our firm, resources, tools and offerings, as well as learn the competitive posture of the marketplace.
  8. Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform job responsibilities.
  9. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  11. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  12. Ability to work both independently and with others.
  13. Ability to operate in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines.
  14. Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Prior experience particularly in the data center industry.

Working Conditions:

  1. Remote opportunity but qualified applicants must reside in the Tri-State region.

Pay Transparency: TierPoint is committed to practices that promote pay equity and transparency. We provide a compensation range for roles that may be hired in locations with pay transparency law requirements. It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors - i.e., budgetary requirements.

Pay Range: $55,500.00 - $90,535.45
