Plantible Foods, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager for Functional Ingredients. You will own named accounts, drive revenue, and negotiate development agreements.

You will map customer needs, direct trials, and quantify benefits, while advancing product development with a growth-focused mindset. You bring 5+ years selling functional ingredients and a technical degree in food science or chemical engineering, with a track record of closing deals without relying on marketing support.

Qualifications

• Sold functional ingredients into confectionery, bakery or condiments.
• 5+ years with functional ingredients in relevant markets.
• Carried a quota in an early-stage ingredient business and grew a revenue book.

Responsibilities

• Own a named account list, prospect, qualify, close and reorder.
• Carry a sales target and report against it weekly.
• Negotiate pricing, volume commitments and development agreements.
• Map customer formulation, process constraints and current ingredient cost stack.
• Direct application trials; set hypotheses, read results and decide next steps.
• Quantify customer benefits: cost-in-use, localization of labels, and yield improvements.
• Maintain awareness of trial outcomes; know when the presented answer is wrong.
• Drive BD innovation by challenging conventions and feeding requirements back to product development.
