Job summary

Orion Solutions Group is seeking a motivated Ocean/Air Freight Forwarding BDM to enhance its portfolio. You will be responsible for increasing sales opportunities and managing new freight forwarding accounts from the greater Houston area.

This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment with benefits including a generous salary, commission, and comprehensive health coverage. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of international logistics, warehousing, or supply chain experience.
• Proven growth in Ocean/Air Freight Forwarding.

Orion Solutions is working with an International 3PL leader who is seeking a motivated and polished Ocean/Air Freight Forwarding BDM to join their commercial team. You will be responsible for increasing the company’s portfolio and developing new sales opportunities. Headquarters for this dynamic team is in the greater Houston area.

Responsibilities

• Grow the freight forwarding book for ocean/air freight and important/export business.
• Identify and create new leads through referrals, cold calls, and marketing efforts.
• Prepare P&L for costing on all new business opportunities, this includes analysis for implementing rate changes.
• Prepare quotes in line with new business and or changes in existing business.
• Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for potential business.
• Update work file registers of sales targets and planning to keep an eye on focus areas, sales activity and overview of projects.
• Conduct studies for relevant projects.
• Stay current on industry trends, services, and competitor activities.
• Communicate with customer service team regarding information pertaining to customer changes and updates.
