Business Development Managers (BDMs) are responsible for leading sales initiatives to meet bookings quotas for Siemens' Smart Infrastructure Automation Solutions in the Metro NJ/NYC area. This includes pipeline development, account planning, strategizing to grow business, and penetrating new customer accounts to increase market share, in collaboration with other Siemens BDMs and sales teams across channels. Strategic involvement in proposals and sales processes is essential.

This position is based out of Morristown, NJ, with frequent travel to Northern NJ and NYC. Ideal candidates should reside in New York, Manhattan, Westchester, Queens, or Long Island.

As a Business Development Manager, you will:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities utilizing Siemens automation solutions across key market segments in the regional territory.
  • Engage early with target customers to influence specifications and promote our products and services.
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to drive growth.
  • Develop strategic plans for bookings and report on sales pipelines bi-monthly using CRM tools.
  • Attend industry events, prepare proposals, and deliver customer presentations.
  • Assist in developing technical requirements for future products and solutions based on market needs.
  • Guide sales teams on the implementation of Smart Buildings solutions.
  • Create tailored solutions for customer opportunities.
  • Support Siemens sales channels with training on capabilities and value propositions.
Qualifications:
Basic:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years in the NY/NJ building automation industry in roles like sales, project management, or business development.
  • Proven ability in account management, sales forecasting, and quota achievement in complex sales environments.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Valid driver's license, willingness to travel frequently, and legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Over 5 years of experience in sales, project management, or business development in building automation.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range: $85,100 - $135,700/year with a 25% incentive target.
