Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to analyze and improve IT processes and systems across multiple domains. You will translate business requirements into design artifacts, break down user stories for developers, and collaborate with architects, QA, and UI designers to ensure robust, testable solutions.

Required 4+ years in IT, strong communication, and hands-on experience with Agile environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experience.
4 years of working experience in an Information Technology environment as a Business Analyst.
Proficient with system/application design and end user support.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to develop and document requirements and specifications.
Ability to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work as a team player.
Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivated.
Ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

Develop requirements for process or system solutions and document details for the development team.
Break down requirements into backlog items for product developers.
Maintain IT process and system documentation for traceability.
Ensure documentation is complete and stored properly.
Collaborate with analysts and scrum teams for consistency in processes and documentation.
Provide functional design specifications for new development and major enhancements.
Work with designers to create interfaces meeting business requirements.
Develop and maintain functional test cases and automated tests.
Provide acceptance criteria and assist with UAT.
Review defects from testing and coordinate remediation.
Document defects from testing and performance tests.
Participate in customer demos for complete requirements.
Verify production changes with affected business units.
Understand supported business areas and suggest improvements.
Maintain IT relationships with architects, infra teams, and DBAs to ensure SDLC compliance.
Create training documentation with OD Technology Training team.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and interview processes.
Mentor less experienced BAs.
