Job summary

TM Floyd & Company (TMF) in Spartanburg, SC seeks an Advanced-level Business Analyst to support a Cybersecurity Program and Documentation Recovery initiative. You will lead discovery, map processes, and translate SME knowledge into structured documentation for writers and IT leadership.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in IT/tech BA, strong elicitation and stakeholder skills, and experience with Microsoft 365 tools and Visio. Onsite role in Spartanburg. Requires SC residency and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Business Analysis experience in complex IT environments.
• Strong requirements elicitation, interviewing, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 experience — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint.
• Strong Microsoft Visio experience for process mapping and workflow/technical diagrams.
• Experience working with technical SMEs across infrastructure, applications, service delivery, cybersecurity, or related IT disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions, interviews, and workshops with IT teams and stakeholders.
• Inventory and assess existing technical, operational, security, application, infrastructure, and recovery documentation.
• Analyze and document current-state processes, workflows, dependencies, roles, handoffs, and pain points.
• Create process maps, workflow diagrams, inventories, matrices, and process/data flows.
• Identify documentation gaps, process risks, single points of knowledge, and opportunities for standardization.
• Gather and validate requirements for SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, system documentation, and recovery documentation.
• Translate technical SME knowledge into structured source material for technical writers and IT leadership.
• Support documentation standards, templates, governance, ownership, review cycles, and repository organization.

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Advanced to support a new Cybersecurity Program & Documentation Recovery initiative. This is an exciting opportunity for a BA who enjoys discovery, process analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, and working directly with technical SMEs to turn institutional knowledge into clear, repeatable processes.

What You'll Do

• Lead discovery sessions, interviews, and workshops with IT teams and stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred

• Documentation recovery or knowledge-management experience
• IT process standardization/operational maturity initiatives
• Cybersecurity, infrastructure, disaster recovery, business continuity, or ITSM documentation
• SharePoint documentation repositories and governance
• Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, CIS, or similar frameworks
• Government or highly regulated environment experience
• CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, ITIL Foundation, or comparable certification

The ideal candidate is a senior-level IT Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience who is much more focused on process discovery, documentation, and translating technical knowledge into usable business/IT documentation than on traditional project management or software development.
