Job summary

Piedmont Technical College is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus or at six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick.

Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed as teaching opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching discipline is required, or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
• Strong teaching and classroom management skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology and engage diverse student bodies.

Responsibilities

• Teach a diverse student body at various locations according to established syllabi and using instructional technology.
• Plan, manage and deliver course instruction; follow EPA and OSHA regulations; participate in college functions; support program and college improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods.


• Additional duties include planning, managing, and delivering course instruction; following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program; participating in college functions as needed; and applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college.
