Job summary

GoTriangle, based in Morrisville, NC, is seeking a 2nd Shift Mechanic II to diagnose and repair a full range of transit vehicles. The role focuses on complex diagnostics, fabrication, and overhauling tasks under a Maintenance Supervisor's guidance.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree and several years of journey mechanic experience on gasoline and diesel equipment, with CDL-B and DOT credentials preferred. The position requires safety-conscious, detailed work in a busy garage.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years total related experience with journey mechanic on a variety of gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Must be able to report to work during Adverse Weather conditions.
• Must have or be able to obtain a class B Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement.
• Must be able to meet the DOT's physical requirements and maintain a valid DOT card.
• Strong analytical/diagnostic skills.
• Certification in servicing motor vehicle A/C per 609 of the Clean Air Act Amendments.
• Certification in Safety and Emission Inspections per NC DMV regulations.
• Proficient in a full range of mechanic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic system problems.
• Repairs engines, transmissions, electrical controls, doors, seats, and more.
• Fabricates frames, brackets, and linkages from metal; welds as needed.
• Determines whether to rebuild or replace parts based on cost and history.
• Responds to road calls and repairs at breakdown sites when possible.
• Maintains vehicle service records and stays current on safety rules.
• Keeps up with changes by continuously upgrading technical knowledge.
