Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Whittier, CA is seeking a Bulk Manager to lead our bulk department. You will supervise packaging, pricing, inventory, and sanitation while delivering outstanding customer service in a busy, health-focused store.

You will recruit, coach, and evaluate staff, schedule shifts, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires leadership, reliability, and a passion for healthy living.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
• Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays.
• Know weekly ad items and be able to direct customers to product locations; maintain housekeeping in the department.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure the team properly packages and scales bulk items.
• Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow sanitation programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Ensure Bulk items are prepared, packaged, and presented; Bulk area is clean and orderly.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed.
• Lead and develop team members through coaching and performance reviews.
• Attend and participate in in-store meetings; recruit, hire, and promote in collaboration with Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address team concerns; manage corrective actions with HR partners.
• Adjust schedules and staffing to maximize productivity.
• Lead a team delivering quality products and exceptional service to customers.
• Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed.
