Job summary

FirstService Residential in New York seeks a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure all mechanical systems operate reliably and common areas are clean, disinfected, and visually appealing. The role requires routine inspections, following safety protocols, and coordinating with building staff.

You will perform minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and general repairs as needed, supported by a full benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors and roofs to check for problems and lights out; reports to supervisors.
• Ensures safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains good working relationship with building staff.
• Painting of common areas and touch-ups; inspect areas needing paint and advise manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled; maintains assigned equipment.
