Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles is seeking an Operating Engineer to perform a range of routine and skilled maintenance on buildings, equipment and facilities, ensuring reliable operation of boilers, HVAC and plumbing systems.

Under general supervision, you will read blueprints and manuals, document repairs, and coordinate with the Chief Engineer for scheduling, safety compliance and required inspections, while maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of equipment, controls, and building automation maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematic drawings and technical manuals.
• EPA Refrigeration License, 608 certification and CA Driver's License as required by job posting.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and maintains records of maintenance activities.
• Maintains boilers, HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Performs electrical, mechanical and general maintenance tasks per diagrams and manufacturer instructions.
• Inspects equipment for proper operation, reports issues to Chief Engineer, and assists with scheduling repairs.
• Maintains courteous relations with staff and Health Plan members and adheres to safety standards.

Education

Associate of Arts Degree in Engineering or technical disciplines (Plant Operations, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing)

EPA Refrigeration License (608)

CA Driver's License
