Prince George's County Government is seeking a Stationary Engineer I/II (Building Engineer 1A) in the Facilities Operation and Management Division. The role covers inspection, maintenance and operation of environmental systems in county buildings, including the correctional facility, under supervision.

Upon satisfactory probation and 2nd Class license attainment, promotion to full performance II level may be possible. Training and compliance with MOSH/OSHA safety standards are emphasized.

Formación

• High School Diploma or G.E.D Certificate.
• Six (6) months of maintenance, repair, installation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
• Must possess and maintain a Third (3rd) Class Stationary Engineer’s License as established by the Maryland Department of Licensing and Regulation, Board of Examining Engineers.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license with no more than six (6) points.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect heating, cooling, and ventilation systems and make necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and non‑mechanical systems.
• Operate building environmental systems (heating/cooling/ventilation), plumbing, electrical systems and related items.
• Review and complete documentation associated with daily performance.
• Assist shop and contract personnel with work at assigned buildings.
• Adhere to safety rules/regulations (MOSH/OSHA) and security requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and replacement parts.
• Willingly perform tasks within the general responsibilities of the role.
