Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems at the assigned property. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, rounds, painting, and housekeeping to keep facilities safe and functional.

The candidate will perform HVAC/boiler repairs, monitor energy management, and respond to emergencies while adhering to codes, safety training, and dress standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprentice or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years' experience operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Licenses or permits for trade as required; universal technician for CFCs may be needed.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and manuals; basic computing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work for buildings.
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, pumps, and air distribution systems.
• Monitor energy management and adjust controls for comfort and efficiency.
• Repair doors, ceilings, and general fixtures; perform preventive maintenance.
• Inspect engine rooms, electrical rooms, and fire/power systems.
• Respond to emergencies and report activities to supervisor.
