Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic / Building Engineer to operate, maintain and repair BAS, HVAC/R, and related mechanical systems at an on-site Bradley, IL facility. You will inspect equipment, troubleshoot, document in CMMS/SAP, and support safety and facility operations to maximize uptime and comfort for occupants.

The role requires 3–5 years of field experience, EPA 608 certification, and strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of field experience with trade school training or 5 years of total field experience.
• Minimum 4 years of technical building engineering experience with HVAC/R, plumbing and electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Universal EPA 608 Certification.
• Strong understanding of HVAC system design, repair, electrical, low voltage controls and maintenance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency includes email, internet, and CMMS systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair air handling units, exhaust fans, fume hoods, and related systems.
• Respond to customer service requests related to indoor temperature and comfort issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Maintain accurate system documentation and update work order status in CMMS and SAP in real time.
• Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting operations or occupancy.
• Support building interior and exterior repairs, including lighting, roofing systems, walls, flooring, and fixtures when needed.
• Complete vehicle safety inspections and comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
• Identify safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Escalate operational issues to management and clients in a timely manner.
• Attend required work and safety meetings and complete all assigned training.
• Support technical team operations, staffing, onboarding, reporting, training and compliance activities as needed.
