Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain and repair building systems—including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC—while ensuring safety code compliance and energy efficiency. This role supports preventive maintenance and emergency repairs onsite at a large facility.

You will perform inspections, manage hazardous materials, and mentor others, driving CBRE RISE values across teams and operations. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal EPA/ CFC certification is preferred.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Maintain an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
• Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
• Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Review inspection to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieve environmental conditions prescribed by client.
• Apply advanced knowledge to tackle sophisticated problems, mentor others across fields, and lead by example in alignment with CBRE RISE values to foster collaboration and consensus.
