Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems across plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. You’ll support preventive maintenance, ensure safety, and help optimize energy use while complying with applicable codes and client requirements.

The role emphasizes teamwork within CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services, applying technical knowledge to complex tasks and coaching others toward best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 4–5 years related experience considered in lieu of diploma.
• Universal CFC certification preferred; wastewater certificate required or must be attained within 6 months.
• Ability to analyze information and exercise sound judgment across multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems.
• Ensure building operations comply with codes, regulations and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program to optimize efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow safety policies for hazardous materials handling and storage.
• Review inspections of fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing for design compliance.
• Share knowledge and lead by example within CBRE RISE values.
