Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at assigned properties in the Bellevue, WA area. The role includes rounds, preventive maintenance, and repairs to keep buildings comfortable and compliant with safety standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of experience with building systems, and relevant licenses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; apprentice program preferred.
• 5+ years of operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Licenses/certifications may be required (e.g., refrigeration, boiler, city licenses) depending on market.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or HVAC duties for the building(s).
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, and air distribution systems.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance per standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect and repair equipment rooms, emergency exits, and safety systems.
• Respond to emergencies and report activities to supervisor.
