Job summary

The City of North Miami Beach is seeking a Building Manager to oversee the Building Department’s daily operations, supervise the Permitting Supervisor and staff, and coordinate permitting, inspections, and plan reviews. The role partners with IT for Energov system configuration and with other departments to improve service and reduce delays.

Responsible for budget administration, staff development, and interdepartmental communications to ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and city

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, urban planning, landscape architecture, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the building department and 4+ years of supervisory experience.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Building Department.
• Supervise the Building Permitting Supervisor, Administrative Coordinator and lead permit clerks.
• Coordinate permitting, inspections, plan reviews, and violations management.
• Manage interdepartmental relations and budgeting for the division.
• Improve customer service and manage timely task turnaround.
