Job summary

City of North Miami Beach's NMB Water division seeks a highly responsible professional to manage financial activities and supervise staff across accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation and fixed assets accounting.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and the ability to coordinate audits, financial reporting, and interdepartmental processes with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/public administration or related field.
• Eight years in governmental/public accounting with supervisory experience required.
• Master’s degree or advanced certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly financial statements and GAAP/ GASB compliance.
• Plan, direct and review work of subordinates in accounting functions.
• Oversee AP, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets and audits.
• Strengthen internal controls and support capital projects accounting.
• Coordinate external audits and respond to auditor requests.
• Prepare financial reports for department leadership.
