Job summary

Builders FirstSource, the nation’s leading building materials supplier, seeks an Outside Sales Associate to support the sales team in reaching customers at stores, on-site, and at events. You’ll help identify leads, process quotes, and coordinate deliveries while maintaining accurate records and fostering strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related selling experience and/or training; prior building materials industry experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service abilities.
• Experience with order processing systems and basic computer data entry.

Responsibilities

• Compile lists of prospective customers for sales leads from directories, ads, and sources.
• Travel within the assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on customers and solicit orders.
• Demonstrate products using samples or catalogs and emphasize salable features.
• Quote prices, terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders.
• Estimate delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.
• Track stock levels and enter new customer data into the database.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
• Attend trade shows.
