Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a motivated professional to assist the Outside Sales team in selling building products and services to business and industrial customers. You will travel with the Outside Sales Representative, call on customers, demonstrate products, and help prepare sales contracts.

Role requires proactive problem solving, effective communication, and attention to detail to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related selling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
• Regularly travels throughout assigned territory with outside Sales Representative to call on customers.
• Displays or demonstrates product using samples or catalog.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
• Tracks stock levels.
• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Attends trade shows.
