Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. in Gig Harbor, WA is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to be the primary point of contact for retail customers, providing product expertise, quotes, and order processing in a fast-paced setting.

You will help customers find the right products for their projects, prepare estimates, process orders, and coordinate deliveries, all while delivering outstanding service and building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of sales, customer service, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service while multitasking in a busy retail environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn order-entry systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to retail customers through walk-in interactions, telephone calls, and email communications.
• Assist customers with product selection, pricing, availability, returns, and exchanges using knowledge of company products and services.
• Actively promote and sell building materials, products, services, and related solutions.
• Prepare material estimates and quotes for projects such as decks, fences, stairs, sheds, and other small-scale construction projects.
• Enter customer orders accurately and coordinate delivery scheduling.
• Manage daily workload efficiently to meet productivity, project, and team goals.
• Support customer engagement initiatives, including workshops and educational events.
• Resolve routine customer concerns and escalated complex issues when necessary.
• Assist with store operations, including merchandising, signage, inventory management, stocking, and general housekeeping.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while promoting a safe work environment for employees and customers.
