The City of Austin is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform building construction, inspections, repairs, and maintenance for APR facilities and grounds. You will handle carpentry, plumbing tasks, and operate power tools while traveling to multiple sites such as the Central Maintenance Complex in Austin, TX.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with potential additional hours for events and emergencies. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of relevant work,

Formación

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus two years of custodial, building maintenance or construction work; experience may substitute for education.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and plans.
• Knowledge of safety practices and city policies.
• Ability to travel to more than one work location.

Responsabilidades

• Inspect buildings and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform minor carpentry, plumbing and general repairs.
• Operate power tools and read blueprints related to projects.
• Move, install or repair furniture, fixtures, and building components.
• Work Monday–Friday or as required, with possible evenings or weekends.
