Job summary

Collin County Government is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician II in McKinney, TX. The role conducts inspections and performs repairs on HVAC components, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facilities equipment under the supervision of the Facilities Technical Coordinator.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in building maintenance, plus six months of advanced study, a valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to pass pre-employment assessments and physical fitness tests.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Two years of building maintenance experience required.
• At least six months of advanced study or training past high school.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass post offer physical, FPCA, drug screen, background check, and fitness test.

Collin County is seeking candidates to fill the position of Building Maintenance Technician II. A Building Maintenance Technician II is responsible for but, not limited to, conducting inspections and making necessary repairs to various structures and mechanical equipment. Work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Technical Coordinator.

Primary Functions

• Performing maintenance and repairing of HVAC components, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility related items.
• Assisting with the renovation and remodeling of buildings.
• Monitoring energy controls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Must have at least two (2) years of experience in building maintenance.
• Must have at least six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator’s Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
