Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field with 3+ years experience, or high school diploma with 6+ years experience.
Must be registered with Michigan Act 407 as Plans Examiner/Building Inspector.
ICC certification must be obtained within 24 months of hire date.
Proficiency with office computers and related software.

Responsibilities

Review residential and commercial construction plans for code compliance.
Perform on-site inspections to verify compliance with drawings and codes.
Maintain electronic records of inspections and plan reviews.
Prepare and issue plan review correction letters and inspection violation notices.
Educate customers and stakeholders on code and ordinance requirements.
