Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field with 3+ years experience, or high school diploma with 6+ years experience.
• Must be registered with Michigan Act 407 as Plans Examiner/Building Inspector.
• ICC certification must be obtained within 24 months of hire date.
• Proficiency with office computers and related software.

Responsibilities

• Review residential and commercial construction plans for code compliance.
• Perform on-site inspections to verify compliance with drawings and codes.
• Maintain electronic records of inspections and plan reviews.
• Prepare and issue plan review correction letters and inspection violation notices.
• Educate customers and stakeholders on code and ordinance requirements.
